Maple
Creek is blessed to have a
compassionate, considerate, and committed
man of God as its shepherd leader and servant. Rev.
Earl D. Simmons, Sr. is a humble man who loves
God, family, church,
and people.
God has given Pastor Simmons a vision for Maple
Creek and has divinely equipped and gifted him to achieve
God's plan for the church and its people.
He
is an accomplished preacher, pilgrim, and
missionary who has traveled
and ministered in five countries over three continents.
He is a gifted leader, a talented teacher, adminstrator,
counselor, and coach. His love of people and his passion
for service are his Christian trademarks.
Rev. Earl D. Simmons Sr. preached his first sermon as pastor
of Maple Creek Baptist Church in Greer on Sunday, November
1, 2009. The sermon was titled "Laying Your Faith on
the Line."
Rev. Simmons served the last nine years
as pastor of Mount Olives United Missionary Baptist Church
in Washington, DC. He completed his Master's Degree in Theology
at Virginia Union University's Samuel DeWitt Proctor School
of Theology in Richmond, Va.
Rev.
Simmons is the 12th pastor of the 130 year-old church. Rev.
